Talisay City Hall building to get major facelift

CEBU, Philippines - The 12-year-old Talisay City Hall will soon get a major facelift after the City Council approved last week the city's 2017 annual budget.

 Mayor Eduardo Gullas has earmarked P10 million for the rehabilitation of the City Hall building next year. The mayor said that additional fund may be allocated because the amount would not be enough.

The City Council approved the total P888 million 2017 budget as proposed by Gullas without deductions.

Gullas said he does not know the exact amount needed to rehabilitate the City Hall building. He said he just had the comfort rooms repaired first to serve the transacting public better.

Gullas said the City Hall building has not been rehabilitated for 12 years already, adding that city engineer Ariel Araw-araw told him that every building needs to be rehabilitated every five years.  

"Ang final amount sa repair makita after na matangtang ang ceiling unya makita gyud nimu ang magnitude sa iyang gigubaon," Araw-araw said. (FREEMAN)
