Liloan launches e-system for easier gov’t transactions

Gregg M. Rubio - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Municipality of Liloan launched Tuesday its Electronic Queuing System that aims to make government transactions more convenient for taxpayers and customers.

“With the touch of a button, you are automatically given a priority number and directed to the government office with whom you have a transaction. With this, we hope to make the public’s experience of transacting with government more transparent, organized, and convenient,” said Mayor Christina Frasco.

Frasco added that they will also offer free coffee and refreshments for their taxpayers soon.

The system, Frasco said, was developed by their Information Technology team, headed by Dwin Yuson.

“Ten days development (stop-and-go) + two salvaged CPUs + a month of procurement process and waiting of the peripherals = Success! Sulod gyud sa first 100 days! You’re welcome Mayor!” said Yuson in his Facebook post.

Frasco said that with just one touch of the screen, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women will also be directed to the priority lane.

Meanwhile, Frasco and husband, Vice Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco, led yesterday the launching of the Liloan Food Street beside the municipal hall.

Various dishes like barbeque and lechon, kinilaw, sinugba, and fresh seafood can be availed in the Food Street which is open every Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Also, the town launched yesterday the newly improved public restroom at the municipal plaza.

“It now includes a gender neutral restroom, better facilities for persons with disabilities, it’s kid-friendly, and features the artwork of Liloan’s very own artist, Strozzi Abecel Rosende,” said Mayor Frasco.

Frasco said they hope to improve and elevate government service and public facilities one at a time. (FREEMAN)
