EMB-7 gets ISO recommendation
CEBU, Philippines - Stakeholders can now expect a more systematic service from the Department of Environment and Natural Resource-Environmental Management Bureau-7 after it received recommendation for the latest International Organization for Standardization Certification.
ISO is an international organization that promotes global standards for quality management system of establishments. DENR-EMB-7's ISO 9001:2015 certification is part of the regional office's strong commitment to deliver efficient services to the public.
ISO 9001:2015, which was launched on April 28, 2016, is the latest version of ISO quality management system.
T?V Rheinland conducted the final audit last September 5 and 6 and immediately provided its recommendation for a certificate.
"We are proud to announce that DENR-EMB Region 7 operates a quality management system, which has been assessed as conforming to ISO 9001:2015 quality management system standards," said EMB-7 director Engr. William Cuñado in a statement.
Cuñado said that unlike other government offices wherein the coverage is only a single frontline service or unit, DENR-EMB-7 provides entire frontline service that has a total of 13 different permits/certificates.
Cuñado said that so far, DENR-EMB-7 is the only office of the DENR which received a recommendation to be issued with the latest ISO 9001:2015 certification. At the same time, he said they are one of the few government offices nationwide which has applied for the latest version of the Quality Management System.
EMB-7 has received the recommendation for ISO 9001:2015 Certification for its systems and processes in relation to frontline services and post monitoring/inspection activities of permits such as Environmental Compliance Certificate l, Permit to Operate-Air Pollution Source Equipment, Discharge Permit in conformance to Clean Water Act, Hazardous Generator Identification, among others.
