The arrest stemmed from the request of the consul and police attaché of the Republic of Korea. The Korean embassy requested the help of NBI-7 after receiving information that Kim is working in Cordova.
The records of the Bureau of Immigration show that Kim arrived in Cebu as tourist in August 2003. He was supposed to stay in Cebu for 21l days but had been overstaying for 138 months.
Pura said that Kim’s case in Korea involves at least P24 million.
Kim is now detained at the Bureau of Immigration holding cell while waiting for the Korean authorities to escort him.
