Cagayan de Oro jail escapee rearrested in Naga City, Cebu
CEBU, Philippines - An escapee from Cagayan de Oro City prison was arrested in Barangay Colon, City of Naga, Cebu yesterday morning.
Police officers from Naga City and Cagayan de Oro City served a warrant of arrest against Regner Roa or Juhn Fermito y Roa alias "Wagner," 24.
Roa reportedly escaped from a jail facility in Cagayan de Oro City last May and went to Cebu to hide.
“Na-detain na g’yud ni siya unya nilayas, ni-eskapo, nipunta diri sa Naga mao nang ni-coordinate sila (Cagayan police) diri ron, ni-join sa Naga police pagdakop niya,” said PO3 Gilmer Noval of Naga City Police Station.
The police arrested the suspect at a house in Barangay Colon where he has reportedly been hiding.
The suspect was arrested for violation of the Commission on Election gun ban, liquor ban, RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
The warrant was issued by Judge Emmanuel Pasal of Regional Trial Court Branch 38 in Cagayan de Oro City.
The suspect is now being brought back to Cagayan de Oro City. (FREEMAN)
