Talisay City-DepEd hopeful on Gullas’ education plans

Gabriel Bonjoc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Schools Division Superintendent Leah Noveras is hopeful that education will be the priority of mayor-elect Eduardo Gullas.

Noveras said this is an expectation considering that Gullas is an educator and one of the owners of a university in Cebu City. She said based on his background, Gullas is geared towards molding the minds of the young ones to have a better future.

"Hopeful lang gyud mi nga matagaan ug priority ang education kay mao ni ang makapa usab sa kinabuhi sa usa ka tawo," Noveras said.

"Kitang tao naa man gyu'y mga priorities, it's not a matter nga ganahan or sa dili naa pud siguro nga line gyud niya ang education," she added.

Noveras added that they are ready to cooperate and to help with whatever the new administration wants them to do.

She said their organization remains neutral, but they are ready to submit and support any education-related projects that will be implemented by the newly-elected leaders.

Noveras stressed that whatever support they gave to the outgoing administration, the new administration can expect the same support.

Gullas won the mayoralty race over outgoing mayor Johnny de los Reyes, Vice Mayor Romeo Villarante and Araceli Capala-Go during the May 9 elections.  (FREEMAN)
