Taiwanese loses valuables to snatchers

CEBU, Philippines -  Taiwanese national who studies at an English language school in Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City lost her valuables to two men on board a motorcycle the other night.

SPO2 Roger Uriarte said the victim, Ling Yun Lin, 29, a student of Joinus English Academy, had just disembarked from a public utility jeepney from Cebu City at around 9 p.m. across the school when the incident happened.

Lin was about to cross the road to the school when the suspect drove by and the man riding in pillion grabbed her black shoulder bag. The two men then drove away.

The bag contained an iPhone worth 30,000; cash amounting P3,000; her student ID; and assorted medicines.

Uriarte said Lin sustained bruises to her right elbow and knee when she fell on the ground when the suspect grabbed her bag.

The victim said the two men wore black t-shirts, shorts, and ball caps.

That night, Lin reportedly still managed to locate her phone to Barangay Pajo using GPS but the same could no longer be traced the following day when the police responded.  (FREEMAN)
