CEBU, Philippines - Senatorial aspirant Joel Villanueva showed his skills as a certified barista yesterday to a number of students who enjoyed the fresh coffee prepared by the former chief of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority secretary.

Villanueva visited yesterday the University of the Visayas for a “back to back skills demo” with Kusina Master, Chef Boy Logro, who also gave a cooking demonstration.

Villanueva, a member of the Liberal Party, promised that he will be a hardworking senator who will continue to provide jobs, especially to the young people, like what he did when he was TESDA secretary.

UV president Eduardo Gullas, who said he considers Villanueva as a younger brother, asked the students to make him the number one candidate on their senatorial list.

“I urge ninyong tanan. Hangyoa ang inyong mama ug papa ug tanan miyembro sa pamilya, nga si Joel ang ibutang nato nga number one,” said Gullas.

Gullas added that Villanueva is a great asset to whoever will be the next president of the country.

“He is a legislator par excellence,” said Gullas.

Villanueva used to be a member of the House of Representatives for nine years representing CIBAC Partylist. He is the son of evangelist Eddie Villanueva.  (FREEMAN)
