3 hurt after hit by stray bullets

CEBU, Philippines – Three persons were injured after they were hit by stray bullets in separate incidents in the cities of Naga and Danao during the weekend.

In Barangay Bairan, Naga City, Jessa Mae Sebial, 18, was wounded in her left cheek while Raymond Obatay, 21, in his right foot after they were reportedly hit by stray bullets on Saturday.

According to Police Officer 1 Jeal Paul Magasin of Naga City Police Station, the victims were walking along a river when they suddenly heard bursts of gunfire from a distance.

A few seconds later, the two discovered that they were already wounded.

The victims were brought to South General Hospital for medical treatment.

In Barangay Taytay, Danao City, Raymond Cuenco, 26, was hurt after he was also reportedly hit by a stray bullet Sunday morning.

The bullet pierced through his leg.

Cuenco, a laborer, was feeding chickens in front of his house when something hit his leg, which turned out to be a bullet.

He was rushed to Cebu Provincial Hospital-Danao City and was treated of his wound.

The police are still conducting further investigation into both incidents. — /NSA (FREEMAN)
