Guns, P100T Nubaine, shabu seized in buy-bust

CEBU, Philippines -  Around P100,000 worth of nubaine and shabu and several firearms were confiscated from an alleged illegal drug pusher during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City Friday evening.

Personnel of the City Intelligence Branch placed 27-year-old Vincent Gonzales under arrest after he sold a pack of shabu worth P200 to one of the police officers who acted as poseur-buyer.

The police further confiscated from Gonzales two medium-size packs and two sachets of suspected shabu and at least 194 ampules of nalbuphine hydrochloride or nubaine amounting to some P100,000.

Four cal. 45 pistols, two cal. 22 revolvers and assorted ammunition were also found at the suspect’s house.

Gonzales is now detained at the Cebu City Police Office lock-up cell and will be facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and for illegal possession of firearms in violation of Republic Act 10591.

Meanwhile, CIB operatives also arrested five men who were caught having a pot session in Barangay Suba, Cebu City Thursday evening.

The suspects were identified as Richie Casicas, Nicolas Luna Jr., Marcelino Ramones, Allen Alicante, and his brother Alexis Alicante.

Casicas, Luna, and Ramones are residents of Barangay Busay while the Alicantes live in Barangay Basak-San Nicolas.

A concerned citizen witnessed the suspects allegedly having a pot session and called up the police.

Several illegal drug paraphernalia were also confiscated from the suspects, who are now detained. —  (FREEMAN)
