Senior citizens in Cebu City to get P2T aid on Friday
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City government will be dispensing over P113 million when it will distribute tomorrow the cash assistance of P2,000 to each registered senior citizen in the city.
Close to 60,000 senior citizens are set to receive the third batch of cash aid from the city for this year. Each senior citizen is allocated P12,000 cash assistance for each year which is given in tranches.
City Treasurer Diwa Cuevas advised the senior citizens to go early to their barangay halls or barangay sports complex where the distribution will be conducted starting at 8 a.m.
Those who fail to collect their cash assistance until 5 p.m. of November 7, will no longer get the aid and will be forfeited in favor of the government.
Since Mayor Michael Rama had promised to give P12,000 to each of the senior citizens this year, they still have a remaining balance of P5,000 to be collected until the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Rama welcomes the proposal of Rolando “Dodong” Llaguno, head of the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs, for each senior citizen to donate P2,000 of the cash assistance for the construction of the new building for the Cebu City Medical Center.
“Welcome kaayo na apan kinahanglan nga ayuhon og sabot nga walay moreklamo. Dili maayo nga adunay mangreklamo sa mga senior citizens,” the mayor said. — (FREEMAN)
