2 arrested for raping girl while boyfriend was made to watch

CEBU, Philippines - Two men were arrested after a couple accused them of robbery and rape.

Police arrested Arnel Deca, 29, and Kevin Cabrera, 23, in an operation immediately after the couple reported the incident to authorities. The third suspect, still unidentified, escaped.

The incident allegedly happened at past 3 a.m. in Barangay Pitalo, San Fernando town last Sunday.

Police Officer 3 Marjukin Misuari said that based on the couple’s account, the suspects followed them while they were walking in Sitio Pajo towards the girl’s home. When they reached a dark and grassy area, one of the men following pointed a gun at them, declared a holdup, and took their belongings.

The three men then allegedly ordered them to have sex but when they refused, two of the suspects began raping the girl while the other held the boyfriend and continued pointing a gun at him to make him watch.

The girl is 21 years old while the boyfriend is 24. They identified Deca and Cabrera positively as the ones who allegedly raped the girl. The suspects are detained the San Fernando Police Station pending the filing of rape and robbery charges against them. Operation is ongoing to arrest the third suspect.
