A Journey to the Senses in“Cut and Style 2018” Fashion Show

The Freeman

It was a weekend filled with vibrant colors and streets coming to life with people marching through in high spirits as the whole city celebrated one of the grandest festivals of the Philippines. The Sinulog vibe was at an all-time high, and Islands Souvenirs front-lined the festivities with their highly anticipated “Cut and Style Your Sinulog Shirt” campaign – the brand’s biggest campaign featuring special edition Sinulog t-shirt designs that could be personalized and customized.

“Cut and Style” celebrated Cebuano creativity and style in the form of the “Cut and Style Fashion Show,” held on Friday, January 19, at The Northwing Atrium of SM City Cebu.

The “Cut and Style” fashion show was a journey to the senses – the sound of Cebu’s music makers, the taste of Cebu as defined by home-grown food-trepreneurs, social media personalities who know a thing or two about staying in touch, and the sight of heartbreakingly adorable kids, as well as a spectacular finale of Cary Santiago’s exclusive creations as worn by the Binibining Cebu finalists and winners: Binibining Cebu Tourism Samantha Lo, Binibining Cebu Charity Maria Gigante, and Binibining Cebu 2017 Apriel Smith.

If last year Cut and Style had internet sensations MedyoMaldito and Snake Princess walk down the ramp, this year celebrity guests Donny Pangilinan and Youtube sensation Hannah Pangilinan serenaded the crowd and had a meet-and-greet with their enthusiastic fans. This year’s show also had Jacky Chang belting out her hit “Atik Ra” and a rendition of “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing.”

This year’s batch of personalities included adorable kidsEstele Fernandez, John Virgil Dumaguing, KannikaJaimee and Kangwal James Kanchanapairoj, Hailey Kirsten Uy, Alex and Kaitlin Tanchan, Dyson Benson Dakay, Jared, Juddson and Jordan King, Lexie Catan Garcia, Anya and Xavi Villacin, and Mather Lowell Rousseau. Local food entrepreneurs Gretchen Camille Alcover of Paolito’s STK Ta Bai, Kelly Urbina Viado of Laguna Group, Kimberley Dacay-Gonzalez of Señor Kimchi, Lor Torres of Isidra, ReizjlAwit of Bicester Café, Chime Bell Osabel of Diet in a Box, and Sarrita Pimentel of Café Sarree also took to the runway. Music makers David Wilde, DJ Elaine, Kay Tradio of Cuarenta, DJ Kirby Yu and DJ Jen Weigel, and Jacky Chang owned the ramp, and social media influencers MedyoMaldito, Etienne Chantal, Jomie Hospital, Toni Pino-Oca, Dave Quirante, Eva Aguspina, and Malaya Macaraeg did not miss out.
