Dark Post-Acne Scars

Another common treatment for dark-colored post-acne scars is called Melaninstop. A solution is applied on the affected area or dark spots to help lighten the color. It is done every two to six weeks interval.

The skin micropeels, meaning it undergoes very, very fine exfoliation that cannot be seen by the naked eye. It can only be felt it as the skin becomes somewhat rough in texture within three to five days after the procedure. Beyond that, it gently feels smoother to the touch again.

There’s no restriction whatsoever after the procedure, but of course wearing sunblock is a must because as we all know Asian skin does not perform well under the sun and heat especially after any skin exfoliating treatment. Other than that, it is a very safe procedure that can be done as early as during one’s teen years. No untoward side effects have so far been reported.
