Congressman Pablo Garcia Turns 92

Former House Deputy Speaker Pablo “Pabling” Garcia, last September 25, turned all of 92 years old. Still looking hale and healthy, Pabling, as he is fondly called by relatives and constituents, welcomed all his guests with his usual smile. All his children were present led by House Deputy Speaker Gwen, Winston, Byron, Mayor Marlon, Nelson, Farla, Pablo John and Deirdra who flew in all the way from the US.

The celebration started with a Thanksgiving Mass, followed by a feast at the Grand Convention Center Ballroom. Also seen during dinner were former House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr., former Speaker Prospero Nograles, former Senator Rene Espina, Congressman Emil Ong and Rep. Thelma Almario, from Davao.

While dinner was going on, actress-comedienne Mitch Valdez showed her versatility and, with her understated antics, brought the house down. Rep. Pabling’s friends, Speaker Belmonte and Senator Rene paid tribute and extolled the celebrator’s wit and wisdom while he was still in Congress. And for this, Pabling received a thunderous applause!
