The “Roku Powered TVolution” plug-and-play multimedia box
The first “Roku-Powered TVolution” multimedia box to be fully-supported in Asia was launched by PLDT early this month. The device mainly affords users with a single go-to-point to enjoy content without having to switch between multiple media boxes.
Developed by content-streaming digital media player brand Roku, the device allows iFlix and NetFlix subscribers direct access to their subscriptions, links users to content hosted on YouTube and also allows them to watch HD channels from pay TV provider, Cignal.
The device is the latest addition to PLDT’s growing range of entertainment and service offerings to households. More information on the “Roku-Powered TVolution” and other offerings by PLDT Home Fiber is hosted on PLDT’s official online channels.
Facebook’s video creation app for journalists
Facebook announced last week that it is rolling out a video creation app intended for the platform’s growing creator community.
Unveiled during this year’s VidCon video industry conference, the application is noted to come with a range of video editing features – a “creative kit” which includes Facebook Live support for opening/closing video billboards, custom video frames, custom stickers and more.
Expected to be made available later in the year, the video creation app won’t be made available to everyone, as it will be made for the perusal of users of “Facebook Mentions,” an app which is available only to verified accounts owned by journalists, celebrities and social media influencers. More information on the app is hosted on Facebook’s official online channels.
Images of the “iPhone 8”
Images purported to be a dummy “iPhone 8” unit made rounds last week, convincing many that the rumors revolving around the tenth edition of Apple’s iPhone line are shaping up to be spot-on, if not consistent.
Posted on Twitter by @OnLeaks, the photos show an iPhone unit that sports a bezel-less screen, a vertical-dual camera on its back and no home button or Touch ID button on its back or front.
These hardware aspects back rumors citing that the next iPhone will come with a screen developed by Samsung (the bezel-less display), and with augmented reality capabilities like facial recognition technology to take the place of a Touch ID button.
Apple is expected to unveil the “iPhone 8” with the “iPhone 7S” and “iPhone 7S Plus” this September. Should the forecasts of rumor mongers pan out to be true, the tenth edition of Apple’s iPhone line will cost more than $1,000.
