No bail for man accused of molesting 5-year-old boy
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Prosecutor's Office has recommended no bail for a 53-year-old resident of Barangay Talamban, Cebu City who allegedly raped his five-year-old neighbor.
Prosecutor II Leah Cruz held the accused for trial after finding probable cause.
"... the said accused by means of force, did then and there willfully and unlawfully commit acts of sexual assault against a five-year old minor," the charge sheet reads.
The FREEMAN withholds the names of the parties involved due to the nature of the case.
During the inquest proceeding, the accused chose not to answer the allegation filed against him, instead opting to face the charges in court.
In a sworn statement, a five-year-old boy alleged that on April 16 at 3 p.m., he was sexually abused by the accused in a parking area in Barangay Talamban.
Allegedly, the victim was forced by the accused to go with him. He was allegedly sexually abused by the accused in between two parked vehicles.
Police Officer 3 Arnel Gabucan and two others of Talamban Police Station arrested the accused after the victim's parents reported the incident. (FREEMAN)
