October Birthday Celebrators and Celebrations

Our dear colleague Jaime Picornell was honored with a birthday lunch hosted by Joel Rama del Prado at the Original Pino where the most-celebrated Chef Tatung (Michael Giovan Sarthou III) and his book “Philippine Cookery: from Heart to Platter” was launched, and he prepared a lot of delectable cuisine for the day. Of course, Jaime’s group (Nelia Neri, Chinggay Utzurrum, Cookie Newman, Mila Espina, and this scribe) were with him as well as his sister Pilar Picornell Escano who came all the way from Leyte.

Before Susan Calero left for the US, she treated us (JRN, CVU, and FSY) to a hearty lunch at the Lantaw Resto in Marigondon as her advance birthday “bangka” since her birthday was on September 10 and she had to leave on the 6th. Anyways, Susan is now in Texas with her family.
