Merienda Feast

CEBU, Philippines - A family favorite when it comes to dining, Golden Cowrie and Hukad sa Golden Cowrie bring tantalizing flavors to the table with sumptuous dishes to delight everyone. Known for its classic Filipino cuisine with a touch of nostalgia in every bite, Golden Cowrie cooks up a delectable merienda feast ideal for an afternoon with friends and family.

"It is part of our Filipino culture to have merienda and so we came up with a menu of delectable bites to savor in between meals," explains Golden Cowrie and Hukad General Manager Kenneth Kokseng. "The menu highlights homegrown delicacies infused with Golden Cowrie and Hukad's signature play of flavors and textures."

The merienda menu features the two restaurants' distinct take on traditional snacks such as the pandesal, palabok and chips-and-dip. The interestingly delectable fare includes fiery Chori De Sal or crispy Dilis De Sal filled with Cowrie's savory sauce, served with banana heart fries or enjoy a tasty Palabok made of thin rice noodles with crispy smoked bangus drenched in shrimp sauce, topped with pork chicharon and egg. For a lighter bite, one may try the CabCab, crispy fried cassava cracker with a smoked bangus pâté on the side. These tasty treats are best paired with refreshing concoctions such as the Watermelon Juice, a tropical blend of sweet watermelon and lemongrass, or Green Mango Cucumber Agua Fresca, a combination of green mango and cucumber juice.
