The "Style Origin" once again

CEBU, Philippines - With local personalities serving as its main headliners, the Cebu leg of this year's "Style Origin" fashion presentation series of Ayala Malls more than prefigured how stylish dressing is shaping up this season. The show effectively enthused that sporting sharp looks was not something that only professional models could pull off. Interestingly, the presentation veered away from tapping the services of professional models and, instead, had 'real people' dominate the runway.

Transforming the Terraces of the Ayala Center Cebu into a marquee fashion lounge last Saturday, July 23, the event - dubbed "MAS! More Music, Arts and Style by Style Origin" - had close to 140 Cebuanos model the collections of a number of the metro's favorite fast-fashion labels. It was the 12th leg of the annual nationwide fashion presentation series.

Wearing bohemian-themed combinations and curated fashion ensembles that bore upcycled treatments of the 90s' laid-back vibe, the models-for-a-day very well served the raison d'etre of event - proving that today's stylistic quirks were no longer demarcated by societal cliques; that 'style' has always been about infusing oneself into what one wears, not just about getting what's off the rack and figuring out sizes.
