Yasunari Ramon Suarez Taguchi - The Freeman

Late last month Twitter rolled out a new real-time marketing tool for the Asia Pacific region.

Named "First View," the utility enables online marketers/advertisers to connect with audiences via richer forms of communication and creative content within the Twitter ecosystem by placing such content on top ad slots on Twitter timelines.

Currently active in Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore, more information about Twitter's "Fist View" is hosted on Twitter's official blog.

Facebook's first office in the Philippines

Dan Neary, Facebook vice president for Asia Pacific, announced late last month that the world's leading social media platform has opened its first office in the country, in Metro Manila.

Stated on Neary's verified Facebook account on April 20, the executive also revealed that "over 49M Filipinos access Facebook every month to connect with their friends and loved ones" - a figure that's "over 91 percent of the [country's] internet population."

Various reports of a press launch held a day after Neary's announcement at Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati cite that Digs Dimagiba - former mobile business director for Samsung Philippines - is heading of the new office.

Dimagiba will be leading the local business team that will be partnering with local agencies and businesses to make the most out of Facebook's offered solutions.

Taiwanese PC casings, peripherals and accessories brand now in Cebu

SilverStone Technology, a leader in the PC casings, peripherals and accessories sector since 2003, had the Cebu launch of its 2016 product portfolio on April 23 at Ginza Japanese Restaurant in Banilad.

Attended by local distributors, industry partners and members of the media, the brand's newest range of advanced power supply units (PCUs), computer chassis units, CPU fans and state-of-the-art computer chassis cooling systems were introduced during the event.

Tony Ou, the brand's marketing manager, talked about how SilverStone's products are not only designed for the specialized needs of gamers, but are also geared for industries that require specialized equipment that are protected from overheating and power fluctuation problems - citing the BPO/Call Center and technical design sectors as examples.

The launch doubled as the Cebu introduction of SilverStone's new lifestyle products for mobile devices. The brand's 2-in-1 Micro-B and Type-A combo connector (billed "CPU02") comes with a reversible Micro-B connector, a convertible Type-A to Micro-B connector and supports USB on-the-go (OTG) functions.

More information about SilverStone's products and where they are available is hosted on silverstonetek.com or via the official Facebook page of Fine Upgrades, the official distributor of SilverStone's products in Cebu.
