Beauty on the rush: Time-saving beauty tips

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Some mornings are of sheer panic for the woman who had accidentally overslept, or have to be somewhere important in a rush. The crazy feeling, mixed with the panicky rush, is really a test of nerves. Especially to one who is not a morning person.

For women, one of the worst things that could happen is messing up the morning beauty ritual. When things don't start right, a bad tone is set for the day. Fortunately, there are beauty techniques that could help save the day.

Even if there's not enough time for a full-blown morning beauty routine, a woman can still leave the house looking fabulous. It all starts the night before. Thinking ahead what to wear - and spending time ironing the clothes if needed, will help preclude a possibly stressful morning.

The following morning, the woman in a hurry may just breeze through the beauty routine - with these time-saving beauty secrets.

A minimal approach with the hair. Look for quick fixes for the hair. After washing, just blow dry the hair and brush with the right strokes to make the hair look bouncy. But if there is no time to wash, just style the hair with a high bun or go with a ponytail. A quick braid could also do the trick.

Ditch the steps of makeup. Forget about a complete makeup ritual, from putting on foundation, concealer, powder, highlights, contour, bronzer to blush-on. Simply just apply powder on the face to have a fresh look. But if hiding the face's blemishes is a necessity, just put on a foundation or concealer to hide these then apply powder. Give a little touch of blush-on to give the cheeks a rosy look.

Keep it simple in the eyes. Applying eye shadow can be messy and time-consuming. Instead, just use eyeliner to give a beautiful outline of the eyes. Afterwards, curl the eyelashes with a curler and the eyes are ready to go.

Easy on the eyebrows. The eyebrows are the biggest part of a woman's beauty regimen. Some may spend a long time trying to make it look on fleek. Plainly outline the brows and let the eyebrow brush do the work. By brushing from the outline, the eyebrow makeup will already be spread on the rest of the brows. Don't spend too much time outlining the whole eyebrow area.

Don't fuss over the lips. The lips may be small part of the face, but it demands a lot of attention. There's a lip balm, lip primer, lip liner, lipstick, and a lipgloss. Skip all those steps and use a multi-tasking lip color product. Lipsticks with moisturizer could do the trick, or just apply lip balm then a lipstick. It could still give the lips some pop.
