Bride at the Blu

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Even in these ultra-modern times, tradition and romance still have their rightful place. And as long as there’s a little girl somewhere who envisions her future walk down the aisle, weddings will always be special. Radisson Blu Cebu is there to help make that dream a reality – for every bride who has dreamt about her big day.

In anticipation of “Something Blu,” a wedding fair at Radisson Blu Cebu, happening on June 10 and 11, those past Radisson brides come to mind – and they are more than happy to tell the story of their big day.

#StarloWedding

One evening in 2009 at the old Outpost, Stephanie Señires was having drinks with some friends when a certain Carlo Villarica walks up to their table and introduces himself. They had already been introduced in 2008, according to Steph, but never really got in touch until that fateful night. Needless to say, they hit it off and, five years later, found themselves in front of the altar, exchanging marriage vows.

It was January 25, 2014 when Steph became Mrs. Villarica. Their wedding was, in Steph’s words, “traditional, romantic, and elegant.” Radisson Blu’s Santa Maria ballroom was adorned with the overall color motif of pink and gray, accented with palm leaves and white orchids for a summer feel. Steph wore an exquisite Wendell Quisido gown that made her a sight to behold. “I knew I would ask Wendell to design my gown as soon as I got engaged,” she said.

Any friend of the couple would know that despite the formality of the event, it still had to be fun and have that personal touch. One of the ways the couple made their wedding uniquely theirs was through their own hashtag, #starlowedding, which was used from the wedding planning up until after the wedding.

As foodies, both Carlo and Steph decided to splurge on the food. Together with the Radisson Blu Cebu team, the couple came up with a dinner menu that went beyond their expectations. Over 400 of their friends and loved ones indulged in a delectable spread featuring different food stations including a pasta station, a salad bar, and a sushi station, among many others.

As a Radisson Blu bride, Steph was quick to point out that Radisson Blu gave them the complete package, offering impeccable food, a sweeping ballroom for the reception, luxurious and comfortable hotel rooms for the dress-up, and even a complimentary coaster to transport their guests from the hotel to the church. When asked about the one thing that’s worth noting in her whole Radisson experience, she said with a smile, “The Presidential Suite is worth it.”

Steph is just one of the many brides that Radisson Blu Cebu has had the pleasure of serving. Her experience is a testament to Radisson Blu’s continued promise to every bride that they are committed to making the biggest day of her life the most unforgettable one. (FREEMAN)
