The 2016 Philippine Hobie© Challenge

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The country’s premier extreme regatta event, the Philippine Hobie© Challenge is back bigger than ever! Now on its 16th year, this time, the sailors are set to conquer Central Visayas from February 20 to 28.

The Philippine Inter-Island Sailing Foundation, Inc. (PHINSAF), the organizing body of the Philippine Hobie Challenge, is a non-profit organization that promotes the eco-friendly sport of sailing and tourism in the country. It has partnered with the country’s leading mobile phones and electronics company, Cherry Mobile, for the 2016 Cherry Mobile Philippine Hobie Challenge | Central Visayas Challenge!

The weeklong sailing adventure begins in Cebu. Then the sailors navigate down to picturesque Bohol, where they party with tarsiers and its world-famous Chocolate Hills. Finally, they cruise all the way down to beautiful Siquijor to cap off the wild event with one big island celebration!

PHINSAF has planned a jam-packed event that not only includes sailing but also some outreach activities together with its participants who will partake in giving educational and medical assistance to in-need seaside communities where the challenge will pass through. It is a tradition that started from simple donations in the past, to becoming an integral part of the regatta.

Dubbed as the most exciting sailing experience in the land, the 2016 Philippine Hobie Challenge is truly one unique event that is not to be missed. More information is available at www.hobiechallenge.ph, or at www.facebook.com/PhilippineHobieChallenge.
