Edna Enrqiuez had the most thrilling moment of her life when only son L.J. invited her to dinner on her birthday last June 28. Not knowing where they would have their dinner, she acceded to his invite. Then he brought her to Shangri-La's Ocean Pavilion. Upon reaching the place, it was pitch dark, and she felt something was fishy. Before she knew it, the lights were suddenly on, and some 80 guests all together surprised her with a birthday song. Edna then went up the dais where she blew the candles on her yellow three-layered cake given by her group surrounded by 70 pieces of mugs with her picture printed on one side. Edna was indeed surprised but shed a tear of happiness. She especially thanked her son LJ and daughters Yumi and Ada for the surprise party, and also thanked Belinda Wong for assisting LJ for making this momentous event a successful one.

Another birthday girl was lawyer Joje Zamora Decal whose birthday celebration was held at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel, no less. Quite a bevy of friends she had and dear hubby lawyer Dean Decal was so glad her usual friends were in perfect attendance including Carlos and Mariquita Yeung as well as Congressman Benhur Salimbangon, Alex Patino and others.

Cookie Newman was treated to a hearty lunch by Joel Rama del Prado during her birthday last July 17 at The Original Pino restaurant. Her media friends - Nelia Neri, Chinggay Utzurrum and Jaime Picornell and this writer were in dancing attendance. More birthdays to come, Cooks!
