The press freedom night

CEBU, Philippines – The Press Freedom Night, one of the local media's biggest events of the year, was held on September 20. It was a night of camaraderie and friendly competition among the Cebu media people, with the selection of Mr. and Ms. Press Freedom 2014. King Anthony Perez of TV5 and Jean Marvette Demecillo of The Freeman won the titles, respectively.

The Social, the newest restobar and lifestyle hub in the city, hosted the event. And indeed it was just the right place for the celebration; many even stayed behind after the media event was over.  The place really appealed to the young crowd.

Starting this September, The Social gives more for its customers. For every purchase of a wood-fired pizza, diners get a free serving of truffle fries. Tossed in truffle oil, parmesan cheese, and pepper, the truffle fries are sure to add a kick to the pizza experience. There's also a four-plus-one promo on particular beers. The offerings are valid until the end of December.

The Social is open from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., Sundays to Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., Fridays and Saturdays. It is located at the 4th floor of Ayala Center Cebu's new expansion.
