Regine Velasquez leads GMA stars joining Sinulog weekend

CEBU, Philippines - GMA Network brings its bevy of stars to the Queen City of the South to join all Cebuanos in the most-awaited festivity of the province – the Sinulog Festival.

Starting this Friday, Jan. 14, the Kapuso contingent will be at The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu, for the Sinulog Festival Kapuso Night.

No less than Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez will be there to entertain the audience and invite them to watch out for the upcoming television premiere of “I YYOU PARE,” one of GMA’s primetime bet for the first quarter of the year.

“I   YOU PARE” – an original GMA romantic comedy series – marks another milestone in the local entertainment scene as it brings to fore the team-up of Regine with the Ultimate Dramatic Leading Man, Dingdong Dantes. Joining Regine is the cast of Alakdana, led by 17-year-old Louise delos Reyes, StarStruck IV Heartthrob Paulo Avelino, and newcomer Alden Richards.

Louise got her big break as one of the Teen Royalties in GMA Network’s Sunday afternoon show, “Reel Love presents Tween Hearts.” She is also part of “Party Pilipinas” Sayaw Kabataan Crew. And now, she marks her first lead role via the afternoon soap of the network for the first quarter of 2011, the original drama series “Alakdana.”

On-ground activities will start at 3PM with a special screening of “Dwarfina.” Fans and audience who missed the pilot week of GMA’s newest fantaserye will now get the chance to view it this Friday. Local GMA personalities’ Yurri and Anna Maris Igpit will host the Kapuso Night, with the main show set to start at 6PM.

“We are really excited in the Network’s rollout of activities for this year. Our Kapuso from all over the regions can expect bigger, more exciting events and activities,” Oliver Amoroso, AVP for Integrated Marketing Services commented.

“What makes it extra special is the participation of the Network’s biggest stars. For Sinulog alone, we are not only bringing the stars of one program, but three programs – “IYOU PARE,” “Dwarfina,” and “Alakdana”,” Jocelyn Bautista, program manager for Regional ETV added.

Tomorrow, Jan. 15, get a different high as the cast of “Dwarfina” amps the fiesta fever at the Kapuso Fiesta Mall Show in the Event Centre of SM City Cebu, starting at 4PM.

Heart Evangelista, Dennis Trillo, Will Devaughn, and Vaness del Moral will be there to entertain the audience and personally thank them for a very successful premiere. Based on AGB Nielsen’s People Ratings, “Dwarfina” scored a 15.4% rating vis-à-vis competitors.

“Dwarfina” is GMA Network’s first telefantasya offering this 2011 that’s guaranteed to delight both young and old. “Dwarfina” follows the majestic and magical adventures of a girl barely the size of a finger, and how she finds her place in both the mortal and supernatural realms.

And on Sunday, Jan. 16, Richard Gutierrez, Solenn Heusaff, and Rhian Ramos – lead stars of GMA Films’ Valentine movie, take part in the Sinulog Parade, which will be covered live by GMA News Cebu on Channel 7. (FREEMAN)
