CEBU, Philippines — Binibining Cebu is Bella’s grandest pageant stint to date, having already been a Miss Milo runner-up, a Miss Lakambini 2013 winner and Miss Medtech 2016 title-holder.

While there may be more experienced girls in Binibining Cebu, the five-foot-seven sports enthusiast is far from being disheartened.

“This is my first ever grand pageant and I guess it’s how hard I have to train to keep up with most of the girls who already had tons of experience. I try to think of the situation as a win-win, because even if I’m not the most experienced, I have all the potential to learn. I’m always up for new challenges that could test my potential and step out of my comfort zone.”

Bella recently graduated with a degree in Medical Technology at Velez College and just passed the board exams last August 31. She is planning to proceed to medical school next year.

“Throughout my four years in college, one thing I learned and will always bring with me is resilience. No matter what life throws at me, I was trained to always bounce back,” shares Bella.

Being that she’s in the medical field, Bella says one of her advocacies is accessible health care.

“I think everybody should have the right to access basic health care especially the people in the provinces. It’s one of my goals to conduct medical missions in the future,” says the daughter of a pharmacist and businessman.

On why Aloguinsan is a must-visit, Bella harps: “Aloguinsan is such an underrated place which has still so much to show. A definite must-try is the Bojo River Cruise where you could go snorkeling amongst the various species of mangroves surrounding the river. There’s also the Hermits Cove and Hidden Beach for all the beach lovers out there.” (FREEMAN)
