CEBU, Philippines - GMA News TV’s “Wagas” continues to inspire its viewers to believe in the power of true love as it celebrates its third anniversary through three big stories set in three of the most picturesque places in the Philippines—Ilocos, Bicol, and Kalinga.

Tonight, Benjamin Alves and Alessandra de Rossi bring to life the love story of Laura and Jun in “The One Who Got Away” with the backdrop of the beautiful Bangui Windmills and historic Paoay Church in Ilocos.

Laura is Jun’s first love but fate seems to have different plans for them as the two would go their separate ways. Years passed and their paths would once again cross. Laura and Jun will have to decide if they will continue from where they ended or if they will just accept that they are just people who happen to love each other at the wrong time. The story is made more special as it was shot against the most historic and scenic spots in Ilocos Norte.

A love story as hot as the Bicolano chili pepper or labuyo follows next week featuring Dennis Trillo and Sam Pinto. Entitled “Ang Turista at Probinsiyana,” the two-part episode is set in Bicol and tells the story of Rome and Mhaycee who met through their travels and eventually found themselves falling for each other. Yet as their relationship deepens, details from their past are brought up, putting their love to a test. The story airs on February 20 and February 27.

Meanwhile, Whang Od is known to many as the country’s last mambabatok. Yet beyond her talent in making traditional Kalinga tattoos, Whang Od apparently holds a beautiful love story. On March 5 and 12, Whang Od, as played by Janine Gutierrez, will share this tale for the first time in the episode “Ang Pag-ibig ni Whang-Od.”

A US International Film and Video Festival Gold Camera Awardee, “Wagas” first aired in 2013 on GMA News TV. It features real extraordinary love stories told in visual narratives and are brought to life by various Kapuso actors.

As part of its third ann

iversary celebration, “Wagas” is also holding a Director’s Cut Screening of all the episodes featuring Alden Richards on February 13 at 3 p.m. in SM Sta. Rosa, Laguna and on February 14 at 7 p.m. in Eton Centris, Quezon City.

Believe in the power of true love. Watch “Wagas” every Saturday, 7 p.m. on GMA News TV.  (FREEMAN)
