Cebuana Lhuillier kicks off search for "Happiest Pinoy"

- Grace Melanie L. Lacamiento -

CEBU, Philippines - Acknowledging Filipino’s epitome of optimism and passion in the face of life’s obstacles, Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions launched its second nationwide search for “Happiest Pinoy 2012” in Cebu.

Inspired with the success of the first “Happiest Pinoy” conducted in 2009, CLIS general manager Jonathan Batangan said that the company decided to continue the search this year.

“Happiest Pinoy” seeks the country’s most resilient and steadfast amidst the challenges in life without losing his cheerful disposition.

The search is open to any Filipino, must be of legal age, who has a positive and joyful viewpoint in life, a capability to rise above trials and the ability to give a constructive impact on the lives of those around him or her.

Ten finalists shall be chosen, but only one will receive the title of Happiest Pinoy 2012 and a PhP250,000 cash prize and a trophy.

While the other nine runner-ups will also receive P25,000 each plus a trophy.

Last February 17, 2010, out of 90 million Filipinos and over 200 nominations, a corporate executive who has been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, osteoporosis, asthma and uveitis bagged the title.

Instead of feeling bad about his disease, Winston Maxino still manages to maintain joy and courage and even shares it to his family and other children.

He even donated his P200,000 cash prize to more unfortunate people despite his own financial needs. (FREEMAN)
