Liloan-based developer unveils township project

CEBU, Philippines — Duros Land Properties Inc (DLPI) recently unveiled its maiden township development in Liloan, northern Cebu, a project seen to boost the town’s economic activity and create jobs for the locals.

The property firm launched on Thursday, Northside Beacon, has an estimated P8 billion cost over a 15-year development period.

In a phone interview yesterday, DLPI business director Lydwena Eco said the project is a 200-hectare township development, which will integrate all the firm’s business lines namely real estate, construction, interior fabrication and manufacturing, property management, education, and food businesses.

"We want to integrate all our projects into one masterplan," Eco said.

The 200-hectare township project will have residential, commercial and retail components which will be anchored on two central amenities: the 18-hole par 72 Liloan Golf Course, and the full-fledged elementary and senior high school Divine Life Institute of Cebu.

Currently, the property has already developed a retail strip entrance; fully operational Divine Life Institute with a fully functional technical-vocational component; an ongoing Woodlands Resort Communities; with a completed phase 1 development and ongoing construction of the main clubhouse; and an ongoing development of Liloan Golf Course.

She added that the township’s residential components, the first phase of its Fairway Estates in Brgy. San Roque as well as the first phase of the economic housing project in Brgy. San Vicente, are still under planning.

“Northside Beacon aligns with the Live, Love, Liloan vision of its locale. With its residential, commercial, and retail components, the township aims to generate employment among locals in the community,” Eco said.

"It will also attract tourists to Liloan," she added, citing the golf course being developed by the company within the property.

With DLPI’s Liloan Golf Course joining hands with Brick and Wood Golf Club of Muirhead Fields in Chiba, Japan, it spells out a win-win situation for both parties as this partnership gives members of the two golf clubs playing rights.

“We expect this partnership to generate more foreign arrivals, especially the Japanese golf enthusiasts, to come here,” said Eco, who added that Cebu’s weather conditions act as the perfect place for foreigners to play especially during their winter season.

As of this writing, DLPI opened the golf course’s first five holes while the remaining holes will be completed before 2019.

The township project is envisioned to become the central residential-cum-business district and economic driver in northern Cebu.

The project's entrance is located along the Central Nautical Highway in Yati, Liloan.

Aside from the partnership, Liloan Golf Course also introduced the Fairway Estates, a high-end verdant subdivision located around the property.

Duros is also the developer of 23 Minore Park in Cebu City. (FREEMAN)
