The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Mighty Sports-Philippines fights for dear life today as it faces top seed Al Riyade of Lebanon, looking for a win to stave off elimination in the 28th Dubai International Basketball Championship at the Al Ahli Indoor Stadium.

NBA veterans Hasheem Thabeet and Dominic McGuire and naturalized Marcus Douthit must step up big time as Mighty Sports, which dropped its first three games, battles one of Lebanon’s premier squads at 9 p.m.

Former Ginebra import Justine Brownlee and NBA D-League aspirant Kiefer Ravena must also sustain their brilliant showing the last time out as Mighty Sports tries to stay in the semifinal hunt.

Backed by Rain or Shine and Scratch It, Mighty Sports was playing Homenetmen – also of Lebanon – at presstime.

Brownlee is averaging 27 points a game while the 6-foot Ravena norms 15.3 points highlighted by a 25-point effort in the team’s 92-95 loss to Sagese also of Lebanon.
