Camsur, Mandaue business chambers ink sisterhood pact

CEBU, Philippines - The Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CSCCI) and the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) have formalized its sisterhood ties to deepen trade relationship between the two business organizations.

CSCCI president Raymund L. Concepcion and MCCI president Glenn Soco signed Wednesday the official sisterhood agreement stamping the groups' effort to promote mutual growth and development.

In a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed by the two parties, it said that a

mutual cooperation to strengthen business and economic growth of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises is the primary goal of the tieup.

Likewise, following the official sisterhood tieup, both provinces where the chamber represents shall expect strengthened partnership and economic opportunities through regular Investment and Trade Promotion of their respective cities to create an ideal economic climate for businesses.

 Exchange social and cultural activities that are of distinct appreciation of both chambers, as well as social responsibility programs such as provide relief and assistance in times of calamity and disaster that may occur in their respective constituencies.

The MCCI's official sisterhood agreement with CSCCI commenced its local linkage with other chamber of commerce groups in the Philippines.

According to Soco, members of MCCI will expect to learn from Camarines Sur's good practices in youth and enterprise development.

      Aside from CSCCI, MCCI has no formal sister-chamber agreement with other local business groups. However, it has existing sisterhood agreements with business chambers in Vladimir and St. Petersburg in Russia, and Turkey.

 "The forging of sister chamber agreements will foster trade and commerce between two cities/provinces. Likewise, it can exchange best practices which can include the participation of LGUs," added Soco.

"We are open and we want to expand our relations with other chambers locally and abroad," Soco added. (FREEMAN)
