Spreading our cultural wings
MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Eagle stuffed toys were dressed up, showing the rich culture of the country as Marco Polo Ortigas Manila held the Wings of Hope Costume-making Contest among its associates In November last year. The contest aimed to help the Philippine Eagle Foundation preserve the national bird, as well as bring smiles to indigent children for the holiday season.
As part of the second phase of the campaign, the hotel invited its various departments to design and create a costume for the stuffed toy depicting the Filipino culture.
Judging the costumes were selected advocates of the Philippine Eagle Foundation. Renowned fashion designer Renee Salud, who also designed special costumes for the Philippine Eagle stuffed toys which were auctioned in Davao, was one of them. Also present as judge was Babyruth Chuaunsu, AVP of the corporate audit department of Philippine Airlines, who helped the hotel bring the stuffed eagles from Davao to Manila and in mounting the auction of the special and limited edition stuffed toys. Business Mirror group VP for advertising sales, Marvin Estigoy, also came in as judge, along with hotel GM, Frank Reichenbach.
The Philippine Eagle stuffed toy is available at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila for P600.
