17-year-old UPLB student raped

MANILA, Philippines - A 17-year-old female student from University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) was raped inside the campus.
Laguna Philippine National Police director Senior Superintendent Florendo Saligao confirmed that the incident happened Wednesday night and declined to identify the victim.
According to a report from DZMM, the victim left the UPLB campus at 9 p.m. and rode a tricycle at Barangay Maahas.
The tricycle driver then brought her to a dim part in IBP Road, Barangay Putho Tuntungin where she was raped and left alone. A UPLB security guard found her walking around the place.
In October 2011, Given Grace Cebanico, a 19-year-old third year Computer Science student was raped and killed by a tricycle driver at almost the same spot.
