PACUCOA awards VMUF; As first institution to have Level III programs in Region I

SAN CARLOS CITY, Philippines — The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) has conferred an academic award to Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (VMUF) after the PACUCOA awards committee chose the institution for being the First Institution to have Level III Programs Reaccredited Status in the entire Region I.

PACUCOA chairman Dr. Jaime M. Buzar said that VMUF is the first institution in Region I to have a Level III BS Biology; Master of Science in Teaching and Master of Public Health programs. 

These programs hold the distinction of being the first accredited programs in Region I with Level III status.

The awards were conferred in connection with the celebration of the 44th founding year of the PACUCOA and 28th Annual General Assembly held in Pasay City last December 1, 2017.

In September this year, the PACUCOA accepted and approved the accrediting team’s recommendation that the University’s Science program (BS Biology); Arts Programs (Political Science, Psychology and English); Nursing Program; Master of Science in Teaching and Master in Public Health programs of the Graduate School; Bachelor of Secondary Education and Bachelor of Elementary Education programs were granted Level III Reaccredited Status.

Dr. Ma. Lilia P. Juan and Dr. Angelo B. Juan, president and vice-president for administration of the VMUF, respectively, and accompanied by deans and department heads of various accredited programs, received the awards.

In 2004, the VMUF was awarded by PACUCOA for being one of the Top 10 Institutions with the most number of accredited programs (Category A).
