Hyundai beefs up network, capacity

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai passenger and commercial vehicles in the Philippines, has expressed support to the national government’s infrastructure agenda, vowing to scale up its capacity and resources in anticipation of a boost in transport and construction activities starting next year.

“Infrastructure helps in leveling the field for growth, allowing cities and provinces to maximize their full potential particularly for Mindanao. It’s encouraging not only for Hyundai, but for the rest of the business community to expand our presence in the country further,” HARI president and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo said.

HARI said parallel to the government’s aggressive infrastructure spending program is the completion of its commercial division dealership facilities in 10 key locations nationwide by the end of the first quarter of 2018.

Situated in growth centers in CALABARZON, Western Visayas, and Mindanao, the facilities will offer a wide-range of products such as trucks, buses, and special-purpose vehicles to service large-scale and commercial accounts as well as those from small and medium enterprises.

With construction on the rise, Hyundai’s commercial division foresees expanding to 20 locations by 2020.

HARI is particularly bullish in Mindanao given the region’s strong economic performance and development potential.

It has four dealerships in Mindanao to date located in Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Davao, and Zamboanga City.

“As opportunities open for the automotive industry, we are determined to provide reliable transport solutions as well as strengthen our drive for constant innovation. One with the country in its vision, we are ready to face 2018 headstrong,” Perez-Agudo said.

The Duterte administration is ushering a golden age of infrastructure for the country through its Build Build Build program.
