Ding Cervantes - The Philippine Star

CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga, Philippines  —   Clark and Cebu City will now host the operations of the Mercedes Benz Group Services Inc. (MB-GSP), which services 25 countries, after it inaugurated last Tuesday its five-story center.

In a press conference, MB-GSP chief executive officer  Heiko Nitsche said the Philippine MB-GSP center would “provide shared services and consulting to the Mercedes Benz sales organizations in Americas, South Africa and the whole of the Asia Pacific region.

The Philippine center also now support “back office finance and accounting processes for the centers in Madrid, Spain, Berlin, and Stuttgart in Germany,” he said.

Nitsche said China has become a big market for  MB-GSP, as he noted sales of 400,000 Mercedes Benz and other vehicles in the country in recent years, with the United States coming second with about 250,000 sales of such vehicles.

MB-GSP, however, does not sell only Mercedes Benz cars, as it also deals with smart cars, freightliner trucks and Mitsubishi Fuso and also extends financial services and other “forward-looking mobility solutions.”

MB-GSP is a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, reputed to be the world’s leading manufacturer of premium cars, commercial vehicles and trucks, with over 282,400 employees worldwide.
