Megaworld to build Cavite CBD

MANILA, Philippines — Megaworld Corp. is building a new central business district in General Trias, Cavite in the likes of the Makati CBD.

The Maple Grove Commercial District is expected to generate P9 billion from the sale of commercial lots. It will rise within the 140-hectare Maple Grove township, targeted for completion in 2022.

It is envisioned to be the country’s premier financial and commercial district with 363 prime lots for sale for companies and businesses and it is inspired by the masterplan of the Makati CBD,  Megaworld vice president for sales and marketing Rachelle Peñaflorida said.

“The entire development will be surrounded with green and leisure parks and the streets, composed of secondary and service roads, will be interconnected in a way that everything becomes accessible wherever you come from,” she said.

The size of commercial lots for sale ranges from 360 square meters to 1,008 sqm.

There will also be a central park that will serve as a green jewel of the commercial district.

The whole district is estimated to be completed in 2020 after which the company will turn over the lots to owners. Lot owners are expected to construct their buildings within five years from turnover.

A key feature of Maple Grove Commercial District is that some buildings within the development will feature rooftop gardens, vertical and indoor gardens as well as green porches and lawns.

“We will be integrating skygardens on the rooftops of most buildings to be constructed. Other sustainability and green initiatives that may be integrated by lot owners into their developments will also be welcomed as we strive to make Maple Grove a ‘green city in the south,”  Peñaflorida said.

Last year, Megaworld announced it was setting aside P10 billion to build the 140-hectare Maple Grove township in 10 years. The property is strategically located in the growth center of General Trias, Cavite, which is only 30-45 minutes away from Makati via Coastal Road and Cavitex.

Aside from the commercial district, the township will have residential and recreational villages, school and other mixed-use and commercial developments including a lifestyle mall that will be built in the next 10 years.
