Epson eyes higher printer sales in Philippines

Catherine Talavera - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Epson Philippines Corp. expects its monthly printer sales to reach an average of 60,000 to 70,000 units with the launch of a new integrated ink tank printer.

On the sidelines of the launch of Epson’s L-series integrated ink tank printer, Epson Philippines head for product management division Jester Cruz told reporters unit sales were expected to increase further with its new product offering.

Epson’s printer sales average at 50,000 units per month, higher than last year’s monthly average, Cruz said.

Cruz said Epson currently accounts for 77 percent of ink tank printer sales in the country as of the first half of 2017.

He added that the company had sold more than three times the quantity other brands sold during the period.

The new printer claims to offer one of the lowest printing costs in the market.

“The new integrated L-series printers significantly lower the total cost of ownership to businesses with its ultra-high page yields. Each complete set of four ink bottles increased its yield to 7,500 black and white pages and 6,000 color pages to help businesses lower their operating costs,” the company said.

The new model offers the auto-duple print function which affords users up to 50 percent savings on paper costs.

The ink tank printer is also equipped with ethernet, Wifi, and Wi-Fi direct connectivity to enable wireless printing.

Epson is the leading vendor of ink tank printers in Southeast Asia, with over 20 million printers sold since 2010.
