PLDT on track to make 2017 a banner year for enterprise

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - PLDT intends to make 2017 a banner year for its enterprise business segment to take advantage of the growing appetite of businesses and government agencies for data and digital services.

“We are growing at a rapid pace and in the right places. First, we are growing at rates much faster than competition, and at higher levels vis-a-vis the key industries we are serving. This means we are increasing our overall market share,” Ernesto Alberto, PLDT executive vice president and chief revenue officer said.

PLDT revenue from the enterprise segment grew 11 percent to P16.8 billion in the first half from a year ago.

Alberto said the largest areas of growth for the enterprise segment are in data and information and communications technology (ICT) services.

By key verticals, the following provided the most growth in the enterprise business in the first half: banking and financial services, outsourcing, information technology (IT) and gaming, and the public sector.

PLDT attributed its leadership in the enterprise segment to digital pivot through digital and mobile solutions bundled with data connectivity services.

The company also has the largest-capacity data center network in the country through its subsidiary, ePLDT Inc.

To further strengthen its leadership in the enterprise segment, Juan Victor Hernandez, senior vice president and head of PLDT and Smart Enterprise said the company would not just focus on technology, but also enable its staff to build expertise and come up with world class ICT practices.

“Our people work hard to understand the businesses of our clients, and, thus develop and offer the most relevant solutions that will help them achieve their business objectives. As a result, we continue to win the confidence of both large and small companies, who have entrusted to us their critical operations and made us integral partners in the execution of their digital strategies,” he said.
