NGCP to speed up restoration of Alabang tower
MANILA, Philippines - The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) is eyeing to fasttrack the permanent restoration of the Alabang tower ahead of its end-month target.
NGCP said it is expediting the permanent restoration of the recently felled Tower #34 of the Biñan-Muntinlupa 230-kilovolt (KV) transmission line.
The grid operator had originally scheduled to put up a permanent tower by May 31.
The construction and erection of the new tower base is ongoing, and the company expects the tower to be lifted and attached by May 21.
To ensure the uninterrupted supply of power to the area, NGCP redirected the power of lines 1 & 2 of the Biñan-Muntinlupa 230kV line.
Traffic over the Alabang viaduct was momentarily stopped yesterday.
NGCP said it is in constant coordination with the Manila Toll Expressway System and local traffic management offices to minimize the disruption of traffic in the area while restoration works are in progress.
