Robinsons putting up more office buildings

Iris Gonzales - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC), the listed property developer of the Gokongwei Group, is expanding its office portfolio in Metro Manila and key cities nationwide amid growing demand from the information and business process outsourcing (BPO) sector.

“This is in response to the robust growth of the Philippines’ Information Technology and Business Process Management sector which continues to drive up demand for high quality office spaces in the provinces,” said RLC’s general manager for Office Buildings Division Faraday Go.

RLC will complete three more office projects in the cities of Naga, Tarlac and Davao as part of the aggressive expansion of its office portfolio.

Go said the company would also look for other growth areas in urban cities around the country, which can support the infrastructure, talent and other requirements of BPO companies.

Last year, RLC completed office developments in Cebu City and Ilocos Norte.

To add to its growing provincial office portfolio, Go said RLC is currently building another office development named Cybergate Delta within the Robinsons Cyberpark Davao, a 1.2-hectare property along J.P. Laurel Avenue which is currently enjoying a boom in business activity.

RLC said J.P. Laurel Avenue, one of the main thoroughfares in the city, has access to 24/7 public transportation and is in close proximity to major food and retail establishments, schools, hospitals, malls, government offices and transport terminals.

The company will first build Cyberpark in Cybergate Delta, a five-story office building with commercial spaces at the ground floor and an allotted area for recruitment spaces for BPO locators.

The four floors of office space will have typical large floor plates of 2,500 square meters for better efficient layout.

The building will have a total leasable area of about 11,500 square meters, including the commercial area.
