Man killed in home attack

MANILA, Philippines - Three masked men barged into a house in Quezon City and shot dead its owner on Friday night.

John Junar Rivera, 35, of Barangay Batasan Hills, died at the scene from several gunshot wounds, according to case investigator Police Officer 3 Arvin Obatto.

The killing was witnessed by Rivera’s sister-in-law, who ran to a neighbor’s house.

Rivera was doing some chores when the assailants barged in at around 10:30 p.m.

Witnesses said the assailants casually walked away from the crime scene after the killing.

Probers recovered bullet shells for a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Police have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
