1 dead, 3 arrested in drug ops
MANILA, Philippines - At least one suspect was killed and three more were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Metro Manila since Tuesday.
In Manila, alleged pusher Daniel Batac, alias “Chukoy,” was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers who staged a sting in his house, located at the corner of Mayhaligue and Fermin Tubeza streets at around 10:35 p.m.
He was later declared dead at the Metropolitan Hospital at 11:10 p.m.
Police recovered four sachets said to contain shabu, a .45 caliber pistol and P500 marked money from Batac.
Barangay councilman Eugene Aguilar told Manila police that Batac’s name is included in the barangay drug watchlist.
In Parañaque, Carl Rodriguez, the city’s sixth most wanted fugitive, was arrested at his house along Quirino Avenue in Barangay San Dionisio Tuesday afternoon.
Rodriquez is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by Parañaque Regional Trial Court Branch 259 Judge Danilo Valdez in May 2016 for illegal drug trafficking, said Senior Superintendent Jemar Modequillo, city police chief.
In San Juan, alleged pushers Jose Danilo, alias “Tenga,” and Elma Lacete, alias “Ma,” were caught in a sting along San Remegio street Tuesday afternoon.
They are reported to be behind the proliferation of illegal drugs in Barangay San Perfecto, police said.
A sachet of shabu and P300 marked money were seized from the suspects.
