MANILA, Philippines – Passenger volume of Cebu Pacific and wholly owned subsidiary Cebgo grew five percent to 16 million from January to October compared with the previous year’s 15.22 million.

The group’s capacity went up slightly to 18.62 million for the 10-month period from the previous year’s 18.61 million, while seat load factor went up 4.1 percentage points to 85.9 percent this year from 81.8 percent in 2015.

Higher passenger volume was seen despite the slight decline in total flights to 110,467 as of end-October from 111,091 last year.

For October alone, the group served a total of 1.52 million passengers this year, down three percent from last year’s 1.57 million.

Capacity also slipped 2.8 percent to 1.80 million in October from 1.85 million in a year ago, while seat load factor declined to 84.3 percent this year from 2015’s 84.5 percent.

Cebu Pacific and Cebgo operated a total of 10,610 flights in October this year, 2.4 percent lower than the 10,872 a year earlier.

The group aims to fly a total of 20 million passengers this year.

It carried a total of 18.4 million passengers last year.

At present, Cebu Pacific offers flights to 36 domestic points and 30 international destinations in Asia, Australia, the Middle East and the US.

Cebgo, meanwhile, has flight services to 24 Philippine destinations from strategic hubs in Manila and Cebu.
