On breaking ties with US: Eddiegul backs Duterte’s decision
CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Mayor Eduardo Gullas is supporting President Rodrigo Duterte's decision to cut ties with the United States in terms of military alliance.
"I support the stand of President Rodrigo Duterte to craft an independent foreign policy," said Gullas, a former legislator.
Gullas said he admires what the President did since it has never been done by any president in terms of securing the country's own foreign policy.
He said Duterte's decision shows the President's courage and leadership.
Gullas also said that he believes in Duterte's independent foreign policy and that his visit to China would produce financial gains for the country.
Further, Gullas said that he's hopeful that Duterte would not forget to provide projects for Cebu, particularly the proposed Light Railway Transit.
Duterte has earlier announced that he would connect some provinces through a railway system.
"I-connect man gud niya ang several pro-vinces to Mindanao. That's good pero maayo unta to nga dili niya kalimtan ang LRT sa Sugbo," he said.
Gullas said the proposed railway system in Metro Cebu would be highly beneficial as it would provide transportation from Talisay City to Mandaue City, and another line from Mandaue City to Lapu-Lapu City. A third line would also connect Talisay City to Carcar City and fourth line from Mandaue City to Danao City. (FREEMAN)
