Cebu Pacific adding international flights, seats for holiday season

MANILA, Philippines - Budget carrier Cebu Pacific is adding frequencies and seats to key international destinations in time for the holiday peak travel period.

Cebu Pacific said in a statement yesterday it would add two weekly flights on select dates of November and December on popular routes.

In particular, it would have two additional weekly flights on the  Manila-Bangkok route (for a total of 14 times weekly) on Nov. 30, Manila-Hanoi (for a total of five times weekly) on Nov. 30 and Dec. 25, and Manila-Kuala Lumpur (total of 13 times weekly) on Nov. 27.

The carrier will also have one additional flight per week on the Manila-Bali (Denpasar) route for a total of three times per week on Dec. 1.

In another development, Cebu Pacific is also set to upgrade select flights between Manila and Hong Kong, Taipei and Tokyo (Narita) by shifting to the Airbus A330 from Airbus A320 aircraft.

The upgrade is being undertaken to accommodate additional passenger traffic starting Dec. 20 of this year.

Such move would translate to 256 more seats per flight, or over 18,300 total seats per week on the mentioned destinations.

“By mounting additional flights and seats, we hope to encourage everyJuan to make the most out of their holidays by exploring their dream destinations with family and friends. Guests can save on air fares by booking flights early via the official CEB website or mobile app, where we post promo updates,” Paterno Mantaring, vice president for corporate affairs at Cebu Pacific said.
