Megaworld bags first Best Developer award

MANILA, Philippines – Andrew Tan-led property firm Megaworld Corp. bagged its first ever “Best Developer” award at this year’s Philippines Property Awards.

With the recognition, Megaworld will be able to compete against other developers in the region at the 6th South East Asia Property Awards in Singapore this November.

Kevin Tan, first vice president of Megaworld, said the award is a testament of the work of the Megaworld Group.

“This award is a testament and validation of the hard work of the almost 5,000 men and women of the Megaworld Group.  Today, we are proud to be the country’s largest condominium developer, the largest developer and lessor of office spaces, and the recognized pioneer and leading builder of integrated urban townships,” Tan said.

Aside from the Best Developer award, the company also received three major development and design awards, and 13 highly commended awards for various projects.

The company won the Best Residential Architectural Design for Uptown Ritz, an all-suites residential tower in the up and coming Uptown Bonifacio township; Best Condo Development in Cebu for 8 Newtown Boulevard, the first residential cluster in The Mactan Newtown; and Best Condo Development (Resort) for The Vineyard Residences in Twin Lakes, a 1,300-hectare integrated tourism estate near Tagaytay being developed by Megaworld’s Global-Estate Resorts Inc.

Other Megaworld projects that were recognized include Uptown Mall (Best Retail Development and Best Retail Architectural Design), Uptown Tower 3 (Best Office Architectural Design), The Venice Grand Canal Mall (Best Retail Architectural Design), Salcedo SkySuites (Best Residential Interior Design), 8 Newtown Boulevard (Best Residential Interior Design and  Best Landscape Architectural Design in Cebu), Marriott Courtyard Hotel (Best Hotel Development and Best Hotel Interior Design), and One Lakeshore Drive (Best Residential Development in Davao), and Suntrust Shanata (Best Affordable Condo Development in Metro Manila), both being developed by Megaworld low-cost unit Suntrust Properties Inc.
