CEBU, Philippines - The strong influx of Koreans to Cebu prompted a Manila-based restaurateur to open the largest Korean barbecue restaurant in Cebu.

No Limits Food Inc., operator of several restaurant brands in Manila, recently opened KPub BBQ Meat All You Can in Ayala Center Cebu occupying a 600 square meter area with 350 seating capacity.

KPub president and proprietor George Pua said that Cebu branch is the third KPub BBQ venture of the company, since it started its Korean themed restaurant venture in Manila last year.

Pua said Filipinos' penchant to explore other cuisines, including Korean, makes the Philippines and other key major cities like Cebu a profitable environment for this kind of business.

"Korea is becoming a favorite tourist destination of Cebuanos. This new restaurant will bring in the vibrant food and culture for the local market to experience, ” Pua said in a press conference.

Pua said the KPub restaurant is positioned as the K-pop "mecca" in Cebu.

He added that KPub will strengthen the availability of destination dining facilities in Cebu, where aesthetics, ambiance, service and food offerings will transport diners to a total Korean vibe.

The restaurant offers diners four packages priced from P499 to P999 per person. On top of these, the restaurant also offers ala carte dishes.

Along with the KPub Cebu opening, the company also debuted its Korean-style chicken food stall named "Oppa! Chicken," located at the al fresco area of KPub Cebu.  (FREEMAN)
